Gathering reliable knowledge can be seen as a foundation to one’s thinking process. A means of layering information, as to how we make choices to fully function as a member of the ‘smart ape’ clan. We select one gateway over others, a secluded place to write our thoughts, a palette to record images, or a clump of reeds to create functional items of handicraft, the back of a Shaker’s chair, a Peruvian basket, each a contribution to do, as the Navajos might say … to walk in beauty.
